Lillian Paterson is filmmaker, storyteller and multi-disciplinary artist. She has worked as a director of short films, assistant director and researcher and directors assistant on feature films, short films and TV commercials. Lillian directed a short documentary Lives in Action available on SBS On Demand and screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival, Tokyo Short Film Festival, amongst other Australian and international festivals. She recently wrote and directed a short queer coming of age story titled Call History screening as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival 2020. In 2020, Lillian was selected for the Cahoots Program, You Are Here’s practice development program. From her work as a tutor and support worker with Bus Stop Films, an organisation that provides film workshops for people with intellectual disabilities, Lillian aims to contribute to projects that empower and employ people with disabilities, mental illness and from diverse backgrounds in key creative roles.
